To record the culinary heritage
of our older generation and their way of life, which is in danger
of being forgotten as we lose more and more of our elders, a book
of favourite old recipes handed down over the years through the
families from Grosse Ile, East Cape, Old Harry and Entry Island
has been compiled by C.A.M.I. Preparing food and ensuring no spoilage
over the long winter months was an important task in the earlier
years of our community and above all, essential for survival. Then
fish was plentiful and very accessible, it was a large part of the
diet of the people, along with abundant wild berries.
This is a collection of stories with the experiences
and memories in the life and times of our hearty ancestors who survived
without today's modern conveniences.
A book illustrating the history of the Anglophone
schools on the Magdalen Islands was also compiled. This includes
information on the schools, dates of operation, names of the teachers
and years that they taught.
A book that relates some of the stories
of tragedies at sea, in the waters surrounding the eastern end of
the islands. This book is dedicated to those who lost their lives
so suddenly to the unknown and unsuspected. May they rest forever
in peace and love.
This book includes names, pictures
and some personal information about each veterans of Entry Island
(57) who were in WWI, WWII and the Korean War.
This is a book that describes the history
of Entry Island and is available in both English and French.
Compiled and first printed in 1978-79
school year by the grade 7&8 children of Entry Island to raise
money for a School trip. It was reprinted by the Entry Island Heritage
Committee in 2002 The cookbook has a wide variety of favorite recipes
from Entry Island.

this book tells of the history of the Islands’ English communities
and touches upon a wide array of topics from the churches and cemeteries
to health care.
