CAMI's Heritage Cookbook

To record the culinary heritage of our older generation and their way of life, which is in danger of being forgotten as we lose more and more of our elders, a book of favourite old recipes handed down over the years through the families from Grosse Ile, East Cape, Old Harry and Entry Island has been compiled by C.A.M.I. Preparing food and ensuring no spoilage over the long winter months was an important task in the earlier years of our community and above all, essential for survival. Then fish was plentiful and very accessible, it was a large part of the diet of the people, along with abundant wild berries.

The Cookbook represents part of the Anglophone community's small contribution in helping to preserve a part of our heritage.
