Welcome to the "Heritage" section of the Magdalen Island's web site. This part of the site is the result of the cooperation of four different groups involved with conservation and history. Because the "Madelinots" (as the Islanders commonly known) remain attached to their past and their traditions, we feel it's very important to preserve these memories. Our common goal is to bring you historical and scientific information that will enable you to better understand our heritage, our culture and our environment that have been greatly influenced by the sea.
