It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband and father, Hunter Borden Burke. He passed away suddenly at his home in Grosse-Ile at the age of 77 years.
Hunter was the son of the late Gerald Burke and the late Annie Pearl Burke (nee Dickson). Hunter is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Jenny Dickson and by his children, Wilton (Vanessa), Greta and Helena (Michael). He was predeceased by his daughter Vivian Ann Burke. Hunter also leaves to mourn his grandchildren, of whom he loved very dearly: Brandon, Alex, Catherine, Daniel, Cassie, Noah and Ronnie and his great grandchildren Everly, Alice and Stanley. He also leaves behind to mourn, his brothers, Willie Burke, Reginald Burke and his sisters, Faye Burke, Patricia Clark and Patsy Brinton. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Don, Tommy, Lowell, Ronnie and Wade. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Hunter’s celebration of life will be held at his home in Grosse-Ile at 64 chemin Red on July 7, beginning at 6:00 pm. The service will be followed by the burial at the church cemetery in Grosse-Ile.
The family will accept condolences at the home on July 6 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm and from 11:00 am on the day of the funeral.
