With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lance “The King” Chenell, who died at home, surrounded by his family, on October 2, 2026, at the age of 72.
Lance leaves behind his children, Christopher, Cassandra, Dylan (Mychaela), and Nicholas; his grandchildren, Marissa, Gracie, and Noah; and Edna, the mother of his children. He is also survived by his sister, Connie (Benny), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Matilda and David Chenell; his sister, Thelma; and his brother, Lionel.
To some, he was Dad. To others, he was Grandpa. To many, he was Uncle Lance. But to everyone, he was “The King.”
Inspired by his love of Elvis Presley, Lance gave himself the nickname and proudly made it his own. He loved to dance and lived life on his own terms. That same determination stayed with him throughout his illness, as did the precious long hair he was so proud of.
His family will remember him with love, laughter, and stories that will keep his memory alive.
Visitation will be held at Lance’s home on Monday, October 5, from 1–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. The funeral will take place at All Saints Church, Entry Island, on Tuesday, October 6, at 1 p.m.
Forever loved and remembered as “The King.”
